To me, true success is magic. I don’t mean fantasy magic, where you can fly around and use magical powers! I’m talking about magic that all of us can do. In order to have this magical power, there are only 3 steps. Step 1: Learn; Step 2: Practice; and Step 3: Humbleness.
The 1st step is to learn. You need to grasp the topic and learn more about it. If the subject is math, you can’t just stop at 1 + 1. You need to find out more and keep going. There’s never an end to learning.
The next step is to practice. Before they were successful, all truly successful people had to go through a messy middle. Things will get hard. But when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Only people with grit will be able to push through the messy middle. You can’t ride a bike without falling down at one point. But if you never get up, you’ll never learn to ride. How many of you have heard the song, Waka Waka by Shakira? In that song, one line says “Pick yourself up and dust yourself off, get back in the saddle.” In life, you always need to learn to pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get back to practicing.
Finally, last but not least, the 3rd step is to be humble. My dad says that there are 2 types of humbleness. The 1st type is recognizing that there is always an expert out in the world who is better than you. This prevents becoming overconfident. The 2nd type is realizing that change is constant and there is always more to learn, even if you think you know it all. This keeps the magic going. You shouldn’t brag about knowing stuff because people learn at their own pace.
To wrap it all up, I believe true success equals magic, and the three steps to mastering magic are learning, practicing, and being humble. Always remember, you can use magic to make the world a better place!
